What is bandwidth and how much do I need?
Bandwidth is your monthly traffic allowance – how many page views your site can handle.
Rough estimates:
- Small business site: 10-20GB supports around 1,000-2,000 page views per month
- Growing site: 50-100GB supports around 5,000-10,000 page views per month
- Busy site: 200GB+ supports 20,000+ page views per month
Sites with large images or videos use more bandwidth per page view, so you may need higher limits even with fewer visitors.
What happens if my website gets too much traffic?
If you exceed your bandwidth limit, your service can be temporarily blocked until the next billing cycle. This is one reason it’s important to block bots and AI scraping tools – they can burn through bandwidth without bringing you real visitors.
