How Your Domain Name is Protected from Unauthorized Transfers

At EasyHost, we take the security of your domain very seriously. Unauthorized domain transfers can result in losing your domain, so several protective measures are in place to keep your domain safe.

Domain Lock

By default, your domain is locked at the registrar. A locked domain cannot be transferred to another registrar without your explicit authorization. This prevents unauthorized or accidental transfers.

Authorization Codes (EPP Codes)

If you want to transfer your domain to another registrar, you will need an Authorization Code (EPP Code). This code is only provided to the domain owner and acts as a security key for the transfer. Without this code, no transfer can occur.

Verified Contact Information

Your domain’s registered email address must be valid and verified. All transfer requests are confirmed via this email to ensure that only the owner can approve the transfer.

Registrar Locks & Notifications

  • EasyHost sends notifications for any transfer requests or domain status changes.
  • If a transfer is attempted without authorization, it will fail, and you will be alerted immediately.

Tips

  • Keep your registrar login credentials secure and do not share them.
  • Enable two-factor authentication on your EasyHost Client Area account for extra security.
  • Verify that your domain contact email is always up to date to receive transfer notifications.
  • Do not share your domain EPP code unless you are intentionally transferring your domain to another registrar.
